Social Media’s beginners guide

The age of social media has disrupted conventional ways of advertising and transformed the way that businesses reach consumers. In addition to LinkedIn and AngelList, there are some other platforms that gather a total of 4.48 billion people with the top social media platforms being Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram.

It is important for your business to be on social media not only because your customers demand it but also because it is an excellent tool to learn more about your target audience. Through social media marketing, you can get to know your customers a bit more and it is a cost-effective way to reach more people across various platforms.

Social media are evolving constantly with new platforms, new features, and new trendy content so don’t forget to stay on top of the different trends and provide some interesting and engaging content for your audience.

Twitter: Twitter is a fast-paced platform that can help you amplify your startup’s message and engage with your target audience. It’s a great place to share company updates, industry insights, and other types of content. Twitter also enables you to participate in conversations, follow relevant hashtags, and connect with partners and potential customers. Facebook: Facebook has a massive user base, making it a useful platform for startups to reach a wide audience. You can create a Facebook page for your startup, share updates, photos, videos, and engage with your followers. Facebook also offers advertising options that can help you target specific demographics and increase brand awareness. Instagram: Instagram is a visual platform where you can share high-quality images and videos showcasing your products, behind-the-scenes content, and user-generated content. Instagram also offers features like Stories and IGTV that can help you engage with your audience in a more interactive way. YouTube: If your startup can leverage video content, YouTube is a powerful platform. You can create and share informative, entertaining, or instructional videos related to your industry or products. YouTube can help you establish thought leadership, reach a global audience, and drive traffic to your website.

Some other platforms such as TikTok or Reddit could also be useful to start building your online presence. Don’t forget to check them out.

Social Media strategy

You have created a great product or service and now it’s time to convince potential customers that your product could solve one of their needs. Having a good social media strategy could be your secret weapon to increase your brand awareness and generate leads for your business.

Here are a few tips on how to create an efficient Social Media strategy:

1- Identify your audience: Try to understand and classify your audience instead of trying to reach the highest number of customers. Identify your target audience through market research and focus on this specific segment.

2- Define your goals and Key Performance Indicators: Establishing a list of goals is important as it serves as a guide and supports your social media marketing efforts. The SMART goal strategy provides a useful framework for identifying and implementing your primary aspirations.

3- Use multiple platforms: Depending on your target customers, they might use different platforms so you will need to understand which platform they are primarily using.

4- Bring value to them: The best way to make sure your potential users will check your content regularly is to give them access to valuable content. It is also a way to show them that you are willing to share valuable information with them.

5- Build your brand image: The brand identity allows individuals to connect with your company and also sets you apart from your competitors. Therefore, all your marketing elements must be consistent.

Leverage Launch Academy’s network

When you joined Launch Academy you increased your social reach by at least 10x. We are always happy to help promote and support your company so please do feel free to reach out and see if we can still help you.

Our members have noted that one of their best takeaways from being a Launch member was the network effect that we bring to our members. We all know the power of social media and how it can help to build awareness of your company, product releases, and milestones but also potentially open up new doors and opportunities.

As a Launch member, we want you to share your milestones and achievements with us so that we can share it with our followers and help promote you. So instead of you reaching JUST your followers, we can help you reach our 10,000 followers, and keep in mind that Launch followers aren’t just fellow entrepreneurs but a lot of key investors, industry experts, government officials, etc. as well.

We can also help you outside of just Launch’s social networks and followers. We have 100’s of companies in our membership network that would be happy to share information about your company with their social followers as well. Let’s say even just 10 entrepreneurs share your news on their social channels and they each have 1000 followers, your post now not only has gone out to 1000 of your existing followers but 10,000 new audiences from Launch and 10,000 new from your fellow Launch entrepreneurs. Now add in the reach through Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. and you can see how the network effect compounds.

The first step to getting here is by:

Sharing your news with us via Slack or email Following ALL our social channels so you can easily engage with our network once we share any updates we get from you

We also encourage you to reach out to your fellow Launch entrepreneurs in our Slack channel or in our Private Facebook group. All links below will take you straight to the appropriate channel for an easy ‘follow’.
