RIDE-SHARING AND ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
For those that are looking to rely mainly on public transportation but may need a faster alternative on a less frequent basis - we recommend looking into Ride Sharing apps such as Uber or Lyft and Car sharing apps such as Modo and Evo.
Uber and Lyft - Similar to a taxi service, these are well-known global ride-sharing companies that have recently announced their launch within Vancouver. These ride-hailing services will match similar price rates to taxis but they come with additional benefits such as safety, scam prevention, and better customer service. Evo and Modo - If you’re not looking to hail a taxi service and have a driver’s license, you can sign up for one of these car-sharing services that are available within the Lower Mainland. They have a fleet of cars all across the city, designated parking spots, and can be a more budget-friendly alternative.
Note 📝
If you want to sign up for either Evo or Modo and you have a driver’s license from another country than Canada, you’ll have to send them a driving record.
