You will use the BC Services Card to access healthcare services through MSP benefits.
What is the BC Services Card?
Once you have successfully registered for MSP, each B.C. resident will need to apply for a BC Services Card which has your unique healthcare identity number also known as a Personal Health Number (PHN). Please carry this card with you at all times and have it available when you need provided health care services.
Types of BC Services Card
There are 3 types of cards that you can receive. These include:
1. Combined BC Driver’s License and Services Card - this is perfect for those that are planning to enroll for their driver’s License within BC and is generally a more popular option.
2. Photo BC Services Card - This will just have your personal information, your photo, and your PHN.
3. Non-Photo BC Services Card - Any children and youth under 19 may automatically be issued a non-photo BC Services Card.
How to apply for your BC Services Card?
-
Bring your accepted pieces of ID and proof of residency to the nearest ICBC office near you.
-
Under COVID-19 restrictions, you will now be required to book an appointment for your BC Services Card application, issuance or renewal through their ICBC online system.
